After visiting more than 14,000 children and families over the past eight years through children's hospitals, blood and cancer centers, Ronald McDonald Houses, and community outreach programs, we have witnessed both the unimaginable challenges families face and the incredible strength they demonstrate every day.

Those experiences have shaped a bold vision for the future: the creation of Hero Camp—a permanent retreat and healing sanctuary designed specifically for families navigating life-threatening childhood illnesses.

Located in the Texas Hill Country, Hero Camp will be a 25-acre destination where families can step away from hospital rooms, treatment schedules, and uncertainty to reconnect with one another and create joyful memories together.

Designed with accessibility, inclusion, faith, nature, and community at its core, Hero Camp will provide a welcoming environment where every family member feels seen, supported, and valued.

Over the past several years, we have brought pieces of the Hero Camp experience directly to families through retreats and special events hosted at venues such as Kalahari Resorts and community partners throughout Central Texas. The response has been overwhelming, confirming what we have always believed: families need a dedicated place where they can return again and again for support, connection, and healing.

Hero Camp is being designed to serve families year-round through retreats, reunions, celebrations, grief support gatherings, and moments of respite during every stage of a family's medical journey.
