Hero Camp

After visiting more than 12,000 children and families over the past eight years—across children’s hospitals, blood and cancer centers, and Ronald McDonald Houses—we have seen firsthand the weight families carry and the resilience they embody. Through every visit, we step alongside these families in their journeys, meeting them where they are and offering hope in some of their hardest moments.

These experiences have shaped a clear and forward-moving mission: to build Hero Camp, a permanent retreat where families facing terminal childhood illnesses can find rest, connection, and moments of joy—together.

Our vision for Hero Camp is a thoughtfully designed 25-acre inclusive sanctuary where all abilities are welcomed. Rustic cabins, peaceful walking paths, accessible play areas, and naturally beautiful spaces will provide families with room to breathe and reconnect away from medical routines and hospital settings.

And at the heart of Hero Camp will be the moments that have defined our mission from the start—visits from beloved superheroes and princesses who bring comfort, laughter, and a sense of magic to children who need it most. These interactions remind families that joy is still theirs and that their children are celebrated for the heroes they truly are.

This past year, we moved even closer to making Hero Camp a reality by hosting events at outside venues, including Kalahari Resorts and HEB, bringing pieces of the Hero Camp experience directly to families. The response has been powerful and affirming, reinforcing the need for a dedicated, year-round space where families can return to heal and connect.

If you would like us to email you a copy of our Capital Campaign launching in January 2026, we would be honored to share it with you. Your interest and support bring us one step closer to making Hero Camp a reality.

If this mission speaks to you and you have the capacity to help us secure the land that will bring Hero Camp to life, we invite you to join us. Together, we can create a place where families find rest, strength, and meaningful moments of healing.
