Our Story
Founded on a calling to serve the least, the last, the lost, and the lonely, L4 Cares has grown into a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and support to individuals and families facing life's greatest challenges.
Since 2017, we have served children facing pediatric medical battles, families in crisis, seniors, veterans, first responders, and communities recovering from disaster. What began as a vision to make a difference in the lives of others has grown into a network of programs, volunteers, donors, and community partners working together to create meaningful impact throughout Texas and beyond.
As our reach has grown, so has the team behind the mission. Today, our board members, advisors, volunteers, and supporters bring diverse experience in nonprofit leadership, business, finance, healthcare, education, public safety, and community engagement. Together, they help guide the organization with integrity, compassion, and a shared commitment to serving others.
Looking ahead, we are pursuing our most ambitious vision yet—Strive 7 Ranch, the future home of Hero Camp. More than a destination, Strive 7 Ranch will be a place of hope, healing, rest, and renewal where families facing pediatric medical challenges can reconnect, create lasting memories, and experience the love of Christ in a peaceful and supportive environment.
While there is still work to be done, we believe God continues to open doors, provide opportunities, and bring together the people and resources needed to turn this vision into reality. Together, we are building a legacy of faith, service, and hope for generations to come.

Kendra Cofer
Founder & President
Kendra is the founder of L4 Cares and brings more than 20 years of executive leadership, business development, and operational experience across corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her passion for serving children and families facing pediatric medical challenges led to the creation of programs including Operation Superhero and Hero Camp.
Believing that God can transform life's most difficult journeys into stories of hope, Kendra is passionate about creating opportunities for healing, community, and lasting impact through the mission of L4 Cares and the future vision of Strive 7 Ranch.
Yvonne Masters
Vice President

Yvonne brings more than 36 years of leadership, customer service, and team development experience through her career with State Farm. Her compassionate approach and dedication to serving others strengthen the mission of L4 Cares. Rooted in grace and service, she is passionate about helping families feel supported and encouraged.

Karla brings decades of experience as a business owner and entrepreneur, with a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and business operations. A longtime substitute teacher who loves working with children, she brings both financial stewardship and a heart for serving families to the mission of L4 Cares. Committed to faithful stewardship, Karla helps ensure resources are managed wisely to maximize the organization's impact.
Kristin Coulter
Board Member
Kristin Coulter serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas, where she leads programs dedicated to supporting families with children receiving medical care. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, fundraising, and family-centered services, Kristin brings invaluable expertise to the L4 Cares Board of Directors.
Her deep understanding of the challenges faced by families navigating pediatric medical journeys provides unique insight into the mission and programs of L4 Cares. Kristin has been a trusted advocate, advisor, and supporter of the organization, helping strengthen its impact while contributing to the long-term vision for Hero Camp and Strive 7 Ranch. Her compassionate leadership, collaborative spirit, and commitment to serving others continue to help guide the organization's growth and future.
Darin Coulter
Board Member
Darin Coulter is a United States Navy veteran and dedicated public servant with the Austin Fire Department. Drawing on his experience in emergency services and servant leadership, Darin provides valuable guidance to L4 Cares and has played an important role in helping shape the long-term vision for Hero Camp and Strive 7 Ranch. His commitment to service, faith, and community continues to strengthen the organization's mission and impact.

Strategic Advisor
Chris Wilson brings decades of leadership experience in technology, business development, strategic planning, and organizational growth. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a military veteran, Chris has built a successful career helping organizations navigate complex challenges while fostering strong relationships and long-term success.
Since the founding of L4 Cares, Chris and his wife, Val, have been faithful supporters of the mission. Chris provides valuable strategic insight, big-picture guidance, and thoughtful counsel as L4 Cares continues to grow its programs and expand its impact throughout Texas and beyond. His strong faith, servant leadership, and commitment to helping others make him a trusted advisor to the organization.
Ken Cofer
Logistics and Development Advisor
Ken Cofer brings more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, where he has earned a reputation for his attention to detail, practical problem-solving abilities, and expertise in project planning and logistics. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed complex projects, coordinated resources, and helped bring ideas from concept to completion.
As Logistics & Development Advisor for L4 Cares, Ken provides valuable insight on organizational growth, facilities planning, operational strategy, and the future development of Strive 7 Ranch. His ability to evaluate both the big picture and the smallest details helps ensure that projects are thoughtfully planned and effectively executed.

Teresa brings more than 35 years of experience in leadership, training, operations, and relationship management through her career with Walmart. Her ability to build strong connections with businesses, community partners, and supporters plays a vital role in securing sponsorships, auction items, and in-kind donations that help advance the mission of L4 Cares.
